Why do I get " Certification Error " message during download/installation?

    You can try the following steps:

     1) Check that the date/time on the phone is set correctly

     2) Go to Main Menu > Tools > App Manager

     3) Select Options and then Settings and make sure the following is set correctly:

     Software Installation = All

     Online Cert Check = Off

     4) Go back to the SMS and re-download

 

How to stream to another account from the same phone?

     You can try the following steps:

     1)On the phone, go to Qik menu >sign off.

     2)Create another account either on phone or through web.

     3)log in with that account

How many languages does Qik Support? 

 

   The Qik client on Symbian devices not supports 19 languages. You can upgrade by opening your Qik client or you can download

   from d.qik.com

 

   19 Languages are: Chinese TW, American English, Polish, Chinese HK, French CA, Spanish AM, UK English, Chinese PRC, French,

   German, Portuguese BR,    Ukrainian, Arabic, Italian, Indonesia, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew and Spanish

 

 

What are the new features of the pre-loaded N97 Qik client?

 

   Video Quality Improvement:

   -nHD quality video in a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio video with 642x358 resolution -Toggle between the different resolutions,

   with SD 640x480 resolution, Normal in 352x288 and Low in 176x144

   Being able to share your location:

   - From street or city level disclosure or users can choose none at all.

   Manage your profile and view the videos from your mobile browser:

   -Users are able to find their own as well as other Qik users' profile page from their phones.

   - They are able to view "live" streams from their phones as well.

   Other features:

   -Available on back and front camera with flash settings.

   Users of the N97 will have to upgrade the Qik client before using this service.

 

 

How do I get started on the N97?

 

   To get started with Qik on the N97, go to the Application folder and press the Qik icon. Once the application starts, you will be prompted to upgrade.

   This is a mandatory upgrade so go ahead and select "Yes" when prompted and within seconds, you will be ready to share what you are doing live

   with your friends and family on any website, blog, or social network. 

 

How can I stream Qik videos using Boingo on a N95?

 

   To get started, you will need to create an account with Boingo and download the Boingo app onto your cell phone.  Please visit the url at http://mobile.boingo.com/qik/. Select your cell phone model at the right column and click on "download" now. ( See picture below)

 

   

 

    Next, connect your N95 with your computer and install the app onto your cell phone from the computer. Once the app has been installed, you will then need to create an account with Boingo. Go back to the website and click on the sign up button on the right side of the website (See picture below).  Boingo has a free 30 days trial which Qik users are able to utilise. Fill in the sign up form and you will be able to get your username and password.

 

    

 

    You will now need to setup the wireless connection on your N95. Go to "menu" -> "Tools" -> "Wlan Wizard". (see picture below)

 

       

 

    In the Boingo Wireless hotspot, search for the appropriate wireless network or SSID to connect to. For example, the SSID for Starbucks in downtown Redwood City is "attwifi"

 

   Once connected, open up your mobile browser, and go to "roaming options" -> " other service providers" -> select the "Boingo" logo. You will then be prompted to log in with your Boingo details and you will be connected to the internet. 

 

   Open up the Boingo application and select  "mange this account" , enter the username and password and your Boingo account has been set up on your phone.

 

   You can now open Qik and start streaming "live" videos onto the internet.
